With today’s unveiling of the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, people are digging up any information they can online in preparation for the next Apple experience, with many more than ready to ditch their current model at a moment’s notice.
While it’s remarkable how quickly our smartphones have improved with each new model, a result of the high turnover rates for all electronic devices due to consumers’ insatiable demand for the next big thing, it’s important to note how dramatically factory worker conditions have deteriorated over the years in keeping up with this demand.
It’s impossible for me to imagine life without my iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro, and every other electronic device that I’ve become dependent on throughout the course of my adult life, yet there’s a cost to everything. If we were to see that cost in an Apple commercial, it’d look something like this:
